Luxury Hotel Property in Sandton is requiring an Assistant Front Office Manager. The successful candidate will assist and deputize in the absence of the Front Office Administration Manager; the Management and Operations of the Front Office Department, and to ensure that the standards as laid down by the company policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, in order to achieve the highest occupancy percentage at the best possible average room rate. In addition, you will provide the best possible standard in service to all guests that is in line with company Policies and Procedures. KEY RESULT AREAS: Assist the Front Office Administration Manager and take operational responsibility for all aspects of Reservations, Reception, and Concierge. Assist in scheduling team members to ensure the correct level of operational coverage. Oversee and maintain departmental handover procedures. Ensure strict control over all procedures involving cash, billing, room allocation, and record keeping. Assist in reviewing departmental performance against set objectives. Assist in the selection, training, and performance management of team members. Assist with maximizing occupancy levels. Maintain a high standard of personal service with all internal and external customers and ensure public areas meet company standards. Manage and control daily revenues, reporting any deviations, irregularities to revenue, or VAT accruals to the Residence Manager and rectifying them accordingly. Stay fully aware of industry trends and offer suggestions for overall departmental improvement. Assist the Front Office Administration Manager with the general supervision of the department. Represent the department in management meetings. Assist with the formulation of the departmental budget and financial reporting. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Minimum Grade 12 (Matric). A recognised 3-year tertiary qualification in the Hospitality industry will be advantageous. Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Manager in a Front Office department in a similar 4 or 5-Star Hotel. Language Skills: Exceptionally fluent in English. Technical Skills: High level of computer literacy with emphasis on INFOR & Microsoft Office. Core Competencies: Well-developed leadership, training, and communication skills. Good business acumen with a competent financial understanding. Well-developed negotiation, administration, and analytical skills with high attention to detail. Ability to create a strong team climate. Flexibility to work shifts and occasional overtime.
