Actuarial Executive

We have an amazing opportunity for an Actuarial Executive at a Specialist Actuarial Consulting Firm based in Johannesburg!

The main purpose of this role is:

-        To support and manage a variety of actuarial projects within the General Insurance team, including pricing, reserving, capital modelling, IFRS 17, reinsurance analysis, and technical advisory work across multiple African markets.

We require a candidate with:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field

·        At least 7 years’ experience in General Insurance (pricing, reserving, capital modelling)

·        Qualified or near-qualified actuary

·        Experience in managing projects and people (advantageous)

·        Experience with SAM, ORSA, valuations, and solvency calculations (beneficial)

·        Strong proficiency in statistical and actuarial modelling techniques

·        Knowledge of programming languages such as R/Python (advantageous)

·        Strong work ethic, motivation, and attention to detail

·        Excellent communication and presentation skills

·        Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and provide progress updates
